sucks for her, if him trying to show respect for her in his presser is what played such a huge role in gettting him canned…

honestly, we should almost be keeping track and have a reference post to delineate between the two….because people (understandably) begin meshing the two and either tossing it all out, or giving too much weight to speculative opinions.

Like even this reference to Doug Wilson…..I’m pretty sure is from Fried saying “he wouldn’t be surprised” to see him in the mix

its 100% on the people conflating the two….here, but mainly on twitter where people tweet what was said in an on air interview, and it being accepted as fact that it was reported Vs opinion/speculation.

the reporters themselves do a pretty good job of separating the two with their verbiage.

You’re mischaracterizing the issue IMO. Its not about whether or not family can be a priority. It was about the timing and delivery of Doobie’s message.

And the timing and delivery were both about as suboptimal as they could have been.

nah, I’m characterizing it accurately…..people are worked up that he showed emotion discussing his family stuff, and wouldn’t commit without speaking to them. (and its then been twisted into “he’s not committed to the team” or “he refused to commit to us” which is far more of a bastardization of what he communicated, imo.

Family is the priority. Thats why the comment was such a big deal and had to be taken seriously. If Dubas' family isn't happy in this situation how long can this possibly work? It can't work.

Burkie and Shanny are both guys with families.

I'm probably more fine with Treliving than anyone else here so I'm calm! I like a guy that values nerdies, led a team with great nerdies for a long time, and learned valuable lessons along the way!

He wouldn't be my first choice but they could do so much worse.

He didn’t show emotion. He’s a bullshitter, and the big money ask that followed a couple days later proved it. So did racing off to Pittsburgh the very next week.

If there were any family issues that made their way into the equation, they wouldn’t be improved by suddenly taking a gig in Pittsburgh. Unless major uprooting and upheaval without notice does a marriage good.
