Take a closer look, we have Mathews/Marner/Nylander (which he inherited) and potentially Knies up front then the old or meh or the overpaid and declining (Tavares), on D we have Rielly and hopefully Lilly and then the mediocre. Few draft picks and few decent assets to trade to improve so i really love to know what you see is so special on this roster?

I never said Dubas didn’t inherit Mathews/Marner/Nylander but that’s what makes a roster special. I’m sure Treliving is very happy to inherit it.

A teams prospect pool doesn't get graded on a curve, it's either good or it isn't and outside of Knies it's bottom end and with him it's still poor.

But feel free to explain how saying it's pretty good for a ''playoff team'' even though it's rated poorly compared to the rest of the league helps our roster down the road?

A guy like Matthews is almost impossible to acquire -- you could offer 10 replacement level guys for him and nobody would make that trade.
