I thought this was a contender that he could put over the top for a Cup? but he takes the same money to play in Nashville?? I know he is a music guy, but jesus christ. I actually hate that the media keeps tossing him the "spotlight" softball.

Apparently O’Reilly’s brother lives in Nashville.

I haven’t seen anything he said or even implied about the coach or the other players so IMO anyone reading that into it is just projecting their preconceived notions.
 
He threw some shade at the coach in one of his interviews regarding their tactics in the playoffs, but that doesn't have to mean it was the reason he left. In fact it pretty clearly wasn't the reason at all.
 
I was fully prepared to accept the theory that if O’Reilly decided he didn’t want to stay here, it was because he got a good look at the weenies on our team and decided he couldn’t win here.

But you don’t sign with this current version of the Preds for four years as a 32 year-old if you give even the slightest fuck about winning.

So I don’t know what you can really interpret for sure from O’Reilly’s decision aside from that he wanted to play in a fun city where there’s no pressure and where he can be totally anonymous in his day-to-day life, even if he doesn’t live up to his contract.
 
Does it really matter? ROR looked kinda shitty and we are better off with Bertuzzi+Domi.
I have to laugh how ROR "Leaving" needs to be looked at as to what's wrong with the Leafs, but Boston's 2 big deadline acquisitions leave (one for Toronto) and it's fine. They have an amazing dressing room.
ROR is way too slow to have on this team with JT, We've gotten so slow. This trend needs to stop. I never wanted the guy back.
Nashville ain't making the playoffs. Enjoy!

a lot of leafs fans can't help falling all over themselves for the juicy gossip angles.
 
I mean Boston was never really in the running to keep those guys, they just don't have the cap.

He said that a lot of things “could’ve been done differently”. And I agree.

Willy could’ve been on PP1 instead of him.

Could be things other than coaching too.

Or it could be coaching things that are run fully by an assistant?

Point is if you think he hated Keefe and left for that reason, then that’s probably what “things could have been done differently” means to you.

And maybe it did, I don’t know. Doesn’t seem to be any evidence that’s why he left though.
