Does that Muzz contract actually become valuable to a cap floor team after July 1?

Or is it more valuable to us - if we leave it there, we can spend $5.6M over the cap?

can't spend over the cap. we were already spending Jake's capspace this year.

the interesting one there to me would be taking on Voracek's contract to save arizona money.

vegas might want to save that Lehner money too.

doubt philly cares too much about cashflow but maybe they do, though I think Ellis and Atkinson will try to keep playing.

The thing about Philly is that they are going to make the coaching staff, and in particular Torts, a key part of roster decisions. They are the only team that has outright said that their coach will be HEAVILY involved in roster decisions. It is Keith Jones' master "forward thinking" plan. Is there any way to exploit this?

yes.

I wonder if Ellis would be an interesting value target even if the expectation is for him to come back? he was a really good player.

I was thinking Buffalo might be a good place to try and trade Tavares. They have lots of capspace, and if we wait until after July 1 then Tavares is costing them less than $5m per year in real money. They have a good collection of young talent to interest him, and are close enough to toronto to commute.

I promise he isn't waiving for Buffalo

A team in Markham would look pretty good right about now
