So his contract just doesn't exist for all intents and purposes. We can spend his money on someone else.can't spend over the cap. we were already spending Jake's capspace this year.
the interesting one there to me would be taking on Voracek's contract to save arizona money.
vegas might want to save that Lehner money too.
doubt philly cares too much about cashflow but maybe they do, though I think Ellis and Atkinson will try to keep playing.
add another expansion team out west.

If he's here or not then, it doesn't make a difference for us, except that we're paying him actual dollars, and no cap benefit keeping him.
But then his hit being $5.6m but his dollars being $2m would in theory be attractive to a team that doesn't want to spend and needs to hit the cap floor? Or would it not matter to them either because he'd have to go on LTIR for them and not count either?
Western Conference.lol where?
Western Canada is out of cities. Shit, they were out of cities before they brought a team back to Winnipeg.
In the case of an injured player on LTIR, he counts to get them to the floor?yeah if he's LTIR that would be an attractive contract for a poor team to get to the cap floor for cheaper.

Could the maritimes not support a team?
The largest arena is about 10k in seating. That would be tough to be profitable. Also, the closest rival would be Boston which is still a hike.Could the maritimes not support a team?
I was thinking if an owner would build a new arena. I know they love their hockey is all.The largest arena is about 10k in seating. That would be tough to be profitable. Also, the closest rival would be Boston which is still a hike.
Honestly I doubt it. Not enough of us. Hali would need a new arena too.Could the maritimes not support a team?
NS is barely over a million as a province, and that’s with record setting population growth. And we’re the biggest out hereHalifax is a fair bit smaller than Hamilton is and doesn't have any cities surrounding it like Hamilton does (Metro Hamilton is almost double the population of Metro Halifax) and Hamilton couldn't support a team on it's own without nearby cities.
Throw in the stuff that's a relatively short drive though:
- St Catherines/Niagara : 450K
- K/W & Cambridge tri city: 600K
- Brantford: 150K
- Oakville: 200K
- Guelph: 150K
Shit, put the arena outside the west end of the city and London (550K) is within reach (pretty easy Go Train extension to run as well, would have 40ish minute travel times).
Halifax doesn't really have any of that. 500K population with a few hundred K scattered throughout the province.
Way too small.
This is true. Pretty sure the Mooseheads do real well.I was thinking if an owner would build a new arena. I know they love their hockey is all.
Best part of a Mooseheads game used to be sub-$10 arena beers. But its been a few years since I’ve gone so that’s prolly no longer the case. This is true. Pretty sure the Mooseheads do real well.
My office is down the block from the Metro Centre and its been real fucking busy during the Mooseheads playoff run. And back when I was a student they often sold out too.
