yeah we can accept reality and still be ornery about it though
Dude could still put up 60 slow ass assists on a PP
I’m not going to get my hopes up, but Claude Giroux is an example you can look to for a former #1 center who wasn’t too fleet of foot and who had a late career renaissance after moving to the wing.
It’s hilarious that you will flip any stat to the negative when it comes to him.
Like he was “given” opportunities rather than earned them. Like all those other players didn’t receive ample or additional PP time. Like he’s on a list of total losers and finished third out of a bunch of shit players, including our three best players.
it confirms he played well to make it on that list, not the opposite.
where does he rank on actual GF/60 and GA/60?
Excelled by a stat you live and die by in all other cases, as good as the best in the league in these playoffs. Better than all the other guys you always say are our true leaders, and who we rely on more because they’re superior players. But let’s disregard it this time.I like process. I believe in process. xG is a stat that helps us determine if process is successful. Are we generating more good chances than the other guys? That can help us determine if when the chips are down, are we probably good enough to hang with the elite clubs.
But...when those chips are down and we repeatedly underperform our process stats, why am I supposed to continue caring about small sample process stats? Score goals you fucking loser.
So what that stat is really saying, is that John had a bunch of chances to lead the team he's the captain of, but underperformed in those situations by a lot.
Congratulations?
I don’t think so either with just two years left, but it would be a damn shame if they asked, and it would cement this franchise’s status as a rotten cursed piece of shit.I still dont think Tavares would just outright block all trade requests.

We traded a very good winger for a younger, better, semi-elite center, franchise cornerstone type. We didn’t dump him for the sake of freeing up money to go try to find cheaper replacements because he was paid a little more than ideal. One of the best trades this franchise ever made was trading a formed 1st overall pick, vet captain goal scorer that couldn't lead us to a cup.
