Even if minten just gets the 9 and goes back down to junior, this is a great sign about the direction of the team. A kid came to camp on the outside, earned the opportunity and they traded a more established player to give it to him.

having two legit good prospects make the team by outplaying all the shitty depth players we’ve been forced to watch surround the big 4 is pretty awesome. And that is on top of Bertuzzi and Domi.

this is the most skilled leafs team since they still had Kadri, JVR and Bozak.

Still kinda wonder what would have been if we'd not had those two years under Lou/Hunter where we drafted almost nothing beyond the top picks. This is not to excuse Kyle's inability to add depth around the core but if you have a two year gap in NHL ready prospects and you're a top heavy team, that's gonna make that job even more difficult.

Pretty sure Dubas purged every single scout Lou brought in.

It doesnt actually drop knies. They can call him right back up.

It just lets them get as close to the cap as possible before triggering LTIR tommorrow at 5pm, which maximizes the capspace they can use all year.
