The New Division

So apparently the Sens can expect a massive decline in SV%, but the Leafs will maintain their shooting %.

If the Leafs put up a historically great shooting percentage last season I would also expect them to have a precipitous decline barring other extraneous factors.

There are half a dozen people on this forum who I have met in real life or were already friends with before I encouraged them to start posting.

Maybe if you guys did the same you'd have more than the TSN.ca bot posting on your forum. No wonder you guys are so self-loathing. Can't even grow your own board.
Growing the Sens board is a true priority for me. I'm such a failure!

The claim was that the system created high % of scoring chances and the skill of the shooters allowed them to capitalize.

The claim for the last decade has been that the Leafs system and lack of skill on D had nothing to do with the number of quality scoring chances allowed and thus played no part in the horrendous team save %.

All shots are equal if it allows us to scapegoat the goalies, but all shots are not equal when it allows us to blow sunshine up our shooters...

Leaf fans are the best.

You guys still are having trouble with the concept of comprehending save percentage after ten years? Yikes.

Apparently it's just at the beginning of the season when teams need to have a roster locked. He'll be called up again early on.

Okay...can you now at least admit a shade of sympathy for Leaf fans and the rampant media bias we put up with? We've heard nothing from the media aside from how piss poor our cap has been managed (leafs are in cap hell!!!! we heard that for a solid month), yet we managed to get Kadri & Franson signed for under market contracts, and ice our best 6 defenders despite one of them on the outside having a 3.8 million dollar contract.

If the Leafs were forced to send down a young player as good as Zbad, for any purpose, twitter would have imploded with laughter.

They had to send Zbad down because two other non-waiver exempt players presumably played their way onto the team.

THE STATS GUY ‏@TH2NSTATSGUY

David Clarkson, suspended for first 10 games. Last season he scored 47% of his goals and 54% of his points in the first 10 games.

I understand it quite clearly.

Just having a laugh at the twisted logic Leaf fans on this board situationally apply to put their team in the best possible light.

THESTATSGIRL (Me): Last season, Clarkson scored 47% of his goals and 54% of his points in the month of January.

Woot.

$800,000 savings in the AHL no? If Zib doesn't play Friday (and he likely will) then it's time to reach for the panic button.

I imagine it's just a case of sending him down for the first week, and giving them another 3 days to decide which of their other players to send down instead. I would guess he'll be back on the team Thursday.

The goalies can't control the quality of shots they face from the other 29 teams they face.

Agreed.

Too bad for you that this board has maintained for over a decade that the Leafs goalies were solely responsible for their terrible save % in order to scapegoat the goalies and make the team seem better than they were.

Woah, really? You still don't get it at all...?

This is completely embarrassing.

The goalie is mostly responsible for SV%.

You still don't seem to get it.
