Would’ve preferred signing him to a longer term deal instead of bridging him.

Hopefully Dubas does something worthwhile with the extra cap space he’ll have in the short term as a result.

I’m fine with the “keeping the core together” part of the plan.

But I’ll be less fine with bridging a high-end young player instead of locking him up long-term if Dubas continues to budget $7.3M towards keeping Kerfoot & Mrazek around.
 
I was worried that Timmy's 5000 2nd assists would drive his price up. Very happy to see it did not. That's a cheap deal, even for a bridge. If he becomes a true top pair D in the next 2 years they should be happy to pay him top pair money. I suspect that his point production may never put him in a place where he gets more than his true value though, which is the beauty in having a guy like Timmy. Very cost efficient.
 
In 2yrs hopefully Lilly and Ras are good enough to deserve the Muzz and Brodie caphits while Muzz and Brodie are old enough to take lower caphits as our vet depth.
 
It would have been tough to pay Lilly/Sandin on long term deals and still improve the team.

Now at least you are getting a good player for way under market value for 2 years.

In 2 years Dubas will have his hands full though. The whole teams contracts are up, except Rielly.
 
They'll have to find a way to trade Rielly by then. Full NMC so it won't be easy but they'll have to do it, especially assuming Sandin proves his worth.
 
that's a good signing. If he becomes a reliable top 4 D it's a great signing. Keefe has to let him do it, though. also makes him appealing in trades with the 2 year term at a good price.

I let him go on with his tirade because I deserve it sometimes. Didn't irk me in the least. I can't sit here and complain about it if I poke now can I?

I'm truly over the shit that happened with the ex. Figured she wasn't worth the emotional energy.
