TML? More like FML, amirite? Yet Another Off Season Thread

It would be a lot easier to do load management if players were recognized for GPG and PPG rather than goals and points.

If Minny goes back to the well for Fleury, I'd see what it would take to get Cam Talbot.

His career playoff numbers are good... he's 6'4.. .getting up there in age, but if he Minny takes Mrazek they could save some money on Talbot (not much but some) or Holl

If you can then get maybe a Stolarz or someone cheap as the back up/heir to the throne.

I just want large goalies man... I need 6'2 or taller. Sick of seeing small guys fight to make saves.

Oooh, just noticed, he's actually only making 3.6 and is signed for only 1 more year. I'll take it.

Rumors of Raz not being happy getting a lil louder every day. As soon as they signed Gio I assumed Raz would want more assurance that there is a path for him to play in the top 4. Otherwise, no bridge for him.

They won't trade him of course. But I wonder if they decide to go long on him and pay him real money to appease him. Or maybe they start thinking about trading Jake. Hope it's not that.

I understand how important you see Muzzin and there are things I agree with and disagree with.

However, I really think guys like Sandin and Lillegren are the future of this team and if you get rid of Sandin you are limiting the mobility of the defense and the offensive potential. Look at the damage that the mobility of the avs set up. Tampa only had Hedman and suffered.

I do like Muzzin's leadership, however I think you have to move him for a RD that will allow Sandin to play on his left. Hell, keep Holl with Sandin and depending on the night move them to the bottom pair.

Reilly Brodie
Sandin Muzzin replacement/Holl/Lilly
Gio Liljegren

7th D Schenn/Lybushkin

Why does everyone talk to me like I'm a crack addict for thinking it's not ideal to trade the best or second best d on the team? Golly!

His dad retweeted our management moves yesterday with a 😍 so doesn’t really seem like anything’s gone sour there yet.

I don't think there's any rage or poor feelings towards the organization. But when a player signs a bridge deal they typically want to be in a position where there's a clear path for them to play top minutes to juice their next contract. Otherwise the bridge expires into another mediocre contract for the player. So I get where he is coming from. He wants to be sold on an opportunity. Or if not, paid on longer term deal. I don't blame the kid for not just jumping to the Liljegren deal.

Because all of your analysis on the matter attempts to pretend that last season didn't happen.

If Muzzin declines any further from last season, he becomes a legitimate distressed asset in the final year of his deal.

I mean, regardless of the reasoning (even if it makes sense), it's never ideal to lose the guy we saw help shut down Kucherov-Stamkos at evens. It makes them worse obviously. Much like the McDonagh trade was necessary... But it makes Tampa worse.

How does believing this make me addicted to crack cocaine?

counterpoint - his analysis relies heavily upon the most important stretch of hockey played by the Leafs last season.
