Shanny has done a great job. We were a tire fire of an organization before Shanny.

World class org now, we get our pick of management talent. Some fantastic hockey minds here. Might just not be the right one making the decisions. But Shanny identified a young, highly thought of hockey mind, got him tutored by a legend and then gave him the reigns. That's exactly what a club President is supposed to do.
 
I’ve always been a fan of Dubas but I’m starting to think he might not be the right guy to get the job done here. Goaltending is going to be his kryptonite and he seems to lack the cohones to swing big trades.

Nah, can't get on board.

Literally the only time you should give term to a goalie is if you develop a stud in house and then give him a nice long 5-6 year deal after his ELC at a reasonable number. No $10M deals for a goalie ever.

Super rare. But if you get that young Vasy or Shitsturkey, lock them up early for cheap. The Kadri/Reilly approach.

If you get one later, get him for short term and fair value, no overpaying bullshit into the $7m+ range.
