fair - though we have to note that ZAR is not a center, and played less minutes than Kampf did when playing on awful teams, and i'm wagering that ZAR didn't have the extreme tough usage that Kampf had in chicago.
 
There's going to be a ton of bargains on the market - even more than last year.

I highly doubt it's just ZAR.

But at the same time the leafs have the capspace to spend a bit more on a guy or two they like - which i sure hope they do and leave more spots open for kids. I don't want them add like 4 <$1m guys again this year.
 
Not me....I want new faces for the bottom 6 with only Kampf and Engvall remaining.
I want some size and grit and guys who can get some ugly goals.

Does anyone know if signing bonuses were already paid on July 1 as usual or if they were delayed until tommorrow just like UFA day was?
 
ah according to pensionplanpuppets signing bonuses are paid tomorrow.

that means as of tomorrow:

Kerfoot is owed only $750k in real money for 1 year.
Muzzin is owed $6m in real money over 2 years.
Tavares is owed $17m in real money over 3 years.

Need to kick kerfott off and find a C to move JT to LW and a third line C. Don’t want Kase back. But gonna have to roll the dice with the kids and Dubas needs to use the ability to trade and get teams to eat cap to really target secondary improvements where the kids don’t perform. He’s done shit the last two deadlines with his acquisitions and it hurts to not get that added depth that Tampa and avs got in their runs.

That's terrible. That third line is garbage and the fourth line horrendous, and this is with Kerf on the second line with is also suboptimal.

We have to have a real 3C. Kampf can't play there. Hopefully the rumors of Strome are true.

We have to get another winger who can score. Kase is unreliable and not worth the money. Mystery at the moment.

We'll be getting another goalie to be the 1b. Samsonov please.

And I don't know that all the moves can be done while retaining Muzz. I think he has to go, unless there's literally nothing worth getting in UFA or trade that can help us pot some more goals from the wing.

the 3rd line is very good and i like all those kids and want them competing with each other for multiple spots.

Or move out Muzz and have the same amount to work with. Get out from under his last years, and keep Kerf and Holl as they expire and open up more room the following year.

Problem is I'm not very high on any of those kids other than Robertson. If he's playing, he should be on the second or third line.

As for the other guys, if they're going to be just a bunch of crappy guys we rotate in and out for each other, which is most likely, then we'll be in trouble. If I had a more stacked third line, I'd be more confident about doing that on the 4th line.
