Yeah, there's a whole bunch of things about this off-season I still don't really understand at all.

• Acquiring Matt Murray at all.
  
  
• With cap space at such a huge premium around the league, how in the hell did we not get Ottawa to retain the maximum 50% on Murray AND cough up better salary-dump compensation than a 3rd & 7th round pick?
  
  
• Why rush into tossing 4 years at $2M+ at a milquetoast, 30 year-old winger like Calle Jarnkrok at the outset of free agency?
  
  
• Why is Alex Kerfoot still on the roster taking up $3.5M in cap space?

Also would've been nice if he'd found a way to take a big swing and add another difference-maker up front. Get the full 50% retained on Murray, dump Kerfoot, don't sign Jarnkrok and trade Holl and that's $9.2M in cap space to play with right there.

I'm not a fan of this offseason either. Chips left on the table imo, even though in fairness the team really shouldn't need anything major.

The Muzz non-move will likely prove to be a killer. I'm really hoping I'm wrong about that.
