TML? More like FML, amirite? Yet Another Off Season Thread

MIkheyev isn't good enough to pay.

Spend that money on an upgrade in net. Maybe an actually good goalie can make that extra save to propel this team because evidently its not an extra goal from one of our core forwards when it counts.

As for the prospects...meh. Until they show more than just potential i'm not giving Dubas credit for anything. He's been all talk and no results as far as i can see. A monkey on this forum could have inherited the same core group and gotten the exact same results he has. He hasn't done nearly enough to escape significant blowback.

Maybe next year we get more than just respect in the handshake line.
 
Seriously, poor, poor Jack.

Game 5 last year - loses on a 2 on 0 OT gimme thanks to Galch.

Game 6 last year - loses on a Dermott giveaway that ends up deflecting off a leg in front of him and into the net.

Game 7 last year - down 3-0, no muffins or whatever, and then we score 1 in garbage time to break Price's shutout but again, came up empty.

Game 6 this year - up 3-2, but boys can't score one more and also can't prevent one.

Game 7 this year - down 2-1, poor guy gives up a dumblefuck goal to Paul because it bounces around and lands right in front of him for a clear open shot.

He literally kept us in every game and we failed him in every game. There was no late muffin to take the wind out of our sails. All this we need a goalie shit is horribly exaggerated. Hopefully they bring him back and use all this negative energy to sign him for cheap. Frankly I'm sure he's coming back. He's too good a guy, has been a solid goalie for us, and should be easy to sign. Only his agent could get in the way by insisting on some dumb contract.

As for the rest, yeah they take time. They typically trade their 1sts so anyone they've drafted under dubas is gonna take time. If they suck ass and nothing comes about in the next 2-3 years then you can rip their drafting.

Knies, Niemela (though I'm always skeptical with euro d points; Mikko Lehtonen has scarred me for life), Voit all seem pretty good. Hirvonen might be decent... Not sure I'm horned up about too much else but if only those guys make it that's an above average hit rate. We'll see.

Lilly alone should have you making a mess in your pants every time you think of him.

Sandin might not be far behind him. This Robertson is shit take of Presty's I don't agree with, feel like he hasn't been given a chance and has looked fast as hell and dangerous when he's played. Also relentless on the puck in both zones.

All the other guys, we'll have to wait and see but Knies looks too good to be true, Niemela has torched Sweden, Hirvonen has been given key roles on his teams, Voit is delivering more than expected. Lots to be excited about.

Hey hey I did not say he's shit. He has been shit in the NHL though. But next year they need to give him a longer leash. He's getting to the stage where he's no longer a young pup. Let him play through it.

But yeah in general there's a lot more to be horny about than the guys hunter drafted, outside of Liljegren. But many are getting to that age where they have to perform. Sandin top 4 duty and Robertson middle 6 duty would be a start. Knies joining the team after his season would be nice too.

I said before, make the 4th line a kid line every single year. Rotate 3-5 prospects in and out, keep them hungry. Like a fucking internship. What the hell worse can they do than Cliffy and Simmonds?

And trust guys like Lilly and Sandin after they've crushed every level they've ever played. We seriously need to lean on Babushkie because we're unsure about those guys??
