It's just funny to me that either Poilievre himself, some of his strategists or both are keenly aware of the fact that Poilievre is nothing except an empty sloganeer. So they do the Trumpy thing, project and just accuse the other guy of doing what you're the one doing.

imo, the March 1 number is the outlier and they're capturing the trend within MOE with the other 2.

Politics has just become all about egos and fake masculinity now. They are all convincing themselves and everyone else about what happened and turning it into an egocentric macho man war when it was really just basic negotiating. Meanwhile:

Ford getting a good taste of what backing down gets you with these people.
He gets granted an audience in Washington with a mid-level Trump flunkie. And then that person has spent the days since publicly taunting Ford for his weakness, mocking Canada and laughingly repeating the administration’s explicit threats to Canada’s independence & sovereignty, while Trump himself has done much the same.
Feels like every time the Premiers stick their beaks into this, they just end up gaining nothing except further humiliation for Canada. Like when Ford led all of the Premiers down for a group trip to Washington where they spent a couple of days getting ignored by everyone important before slinking back home.

Not everything has to be a game with a winner and a loser. We're all getting lost here by the Maga administration. Canada has things the US needs, the US has things Canada needs. Come to a deal so both parties win. That's it. That's the goal. Ignore all the noise about anything else.
