Didn't watch since we had our granddaughter and our sweet exchange student with us, and they wanted to watch "How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days". The movie was not great, but it was much better than watching last night's fiasco in Toronto.
Thanks, Andy. That was a solid, non-hyped article. I still believe Rantanen will be signed by the Canes. He's still the best player available and can give the Canes the scorer they've always wanted.
I thought we were in trouble when Hanifin and Fox took the ice on that last shift. Hanifin was particularly bad last night - he seemed to be a turnover machine. On the other hand, Slavin was unbelievably good. No one on team Canada scored when he was on the ice - I think in both games.
I hate the crowd booing any team's national anthem, but everyone's upset these days, so I agree the booing will continue in Boston. As for the game, I thought the 1st period was about as fast, hard-hitting and exciting as I've seen - it had a real playoff game atmosphere. And how about all the...
At the risk of piling on to the negative Nellie contingent - can't say I was impressed with Rantanen's performance last night. Of course, it's with another set of new players and a new system and he still may be a little bruised up, but I'm looking for the game-changer we hope he will be.
Let's hope we win this one today - otherwise we'll have two weeks stewing about how badly things are going. Over the break, maybe the team and its fans can spend some quality time with their therapists or priests to exorcise whatever demons are in their heads before the season resumes.
Didn't watch this game and glad I didn't. Our slide to mediocrity has been with us since Thanksgiving and the newbies haven't helped change that trajectory. I'm hopeful that we'll see a course correction in time, but I've also been saying that for a while.
Thoughts on last night's game:
Not a great 3rd period, but good enough.
We know Pyotr by now - and WYSIWYG
How many times has Orlov been schooled at the blueline?
Nice fan tribute to Teuvo - it was also a shock to see him hop on the ice AND smile
Freddie's celebration was great
The Moose is...
This was a pretty fun game to watch - especially when the Canes got off their usual style of play and went end-to-end with the Rags. When they got their forecheck and puck possession going in the 3rd it looked like the Rags just about gave up all hope. Freddie was outstanding and Svech played...
