2019-20 Miscellaneous NHL/Hockey News Thread

Steven Stamkos won‘t play In the Lightning’s last round robin game and is out indefinitely with a lower body injury sustained before training camp started.
 
You just know that one of these 'better' teams is going to end up with the 1st overall pick if they get eliminated from the play-in round, one of
Toronto, Edmonton or Pittsburgh for example. If it ends up being Toronto that really becomes an interesting decision point for them. They desperately need capable NHL Dmen, not another flashy forward. They would have lots of trade options.

Was texting a cousin in Hamilton last night while watching. He’d pull his hair out if he had any. Leafs need to clean their bed today.

I have watched this shit show for too many years to count...hapless is just one of many words for them. I will say this, Toronto and that management team should be embarrassed to trot out the likes of that starting six on defense last night and think that they were going to beat anyone through this tournament. That team is so unbelievably top heavy in forwards with next to nothing on defense. Come on...Martin Marincin, Cody Ceci, Tyson Barrie, Justin Holl...is that really going to get it done? Seth Jones and Zach Werenski seemed like they never left the ice, the Leafs should take note of the value of a stud defenseman or two on your team.

They spent to the cap this year. The have 5 UFAs; Hoffman, Dadonov, Haula, Boyle and Pysyk. But they have $24 million tied up on D with Ekblad, Yandle, Stralman and Mathewson. And $10 million to Bob for another 6 years. And they have $3.4 million tied up in Darling’s buyout and Luongo’s recapture penalty Next year, Darling’s buyout goes down after next season. They have 13 players under contract and a $60 million cap hit. Not good.
 
Oooh….Nashville saves their season for now with a game tying goal with 32 seconds left. Zona blew a chance to put that series away in regulation.
 
Habs have faced Pittsburgh 3 times in the playoffs and are 3-0 in those series. All the talking heads don't look at stuff like that not do they understand the Habs always play Pittsburgh well.
