Ugh ... "Marc with a C" ... I had completely forgotten that toolbag. He had a show out of Charlotte in the 90s or 00s and it may have actually been carried in the RTP market at some point. He was a Rome clone ... courting "controversy" but really just being an anti-small market jerk ... so I guess it doesn't surprise me that he'd fill in for the real deal.I see your Jack Edwards and raise you a Marc James. I guess this guy used to have a radio show in Charlotte?
Jim Rome is still around??
Yeah, Rome is still on the air. I listen to my sports shows via WRAL Sports Fan on their website and they have links to all of the shows that they have on their local stations. I think you can still get Rome locally via the AM sports talk station around here. If you didn't like him before, you'll especially hate him now. If you were, like me, a casual listener, you will especially hate him now. It's gotten to be more and more cultish around him and the show itself. The Sklar brothers, though, remain excellent guest hosts, so Rome has got *that* going for him. That is really the only time I actually listen to the show nowadays.
Yep. And it's getting more and more hype by Rome. I hate-listened on and off during the week leading up to the smack off and I felt embarrassed for everyone involved. I had to feel shame for them since, obviously, they all lack the ability to feel shame for their actions.

Different SklarOne of them Robert Sklar, of the original Rotisserie Baseball League books? Just curious, unique last name...
Just for that comment...I’m out!The “smack off“ was among the dumbest bits of programming the world has ever heard. Just a bunch of basement bros reading off a script.
Wait. So they interview a ton of guys who have failed as GMs before and guys who never worked in management before and then go hire a bog standard AGM/Minor League GM guy? I mean, good on them because it was looking like a train wreck there for a while, but ...Multiple reports that the Florida Panthers will announce Bill Zito as their new GM tomorrow. He’s been in the Columbus organization since 2013.
Rierden is by all accounts a good defensive assistant, so he was never going to be a bread line or anything. And God knows the Pens need some help organizing that back end. I'm a little surprised that Vellucci agreed to be an assistant since he's resisted that move pretty hard in the past, but he's a Rutherford guy so maybe Jimmy was just finally able to talk him into it.Todd Reirden wasn’t unemployed long. The Pens hired him and Mike Vellucci as assistants. After leaving the Checkers, Vellucci coached the Pens AHL team last year.

Interesting that this is the first time that anybody has managed to claw out a win coming into a game down 3-1, and it happens twice on the same night. Two pretty good hockey games too.The Flyers and Canucks live to fight another day. Flyers blow a 3rd period, 3-1 lead and win in OT. Vancouver gets 43 saves from rookie Thatcher Demko to beat Vegas 2-1. Jacob Markstrom was listed as unfit to play. Demko hasn’t started a game since March 10 and had only played 8:26 in relief of Markstrom in game 1 of this series.
