2021 Playoff Thread | Round 1 | Habs/Leafs

I see your point, the hit didn’t seem intentional, but the good thing about the fight is that it provided some closure and allowed the players to move on with the game. Otherwise, one thing could have led to another and the game could have gotten nasty and turned into the wild, wild west.
I believe the point is closure wasn't necessary.

The fight was silly and useless but I have no idea why so much is being made of it really. He asked Perry to go, Perry said yes, they half-heartedly exchanged a few punches. It was kind of a nothing thing.
Perry begrudgingly said yes. You know he's friends with JT right? He was visibly upset and didn't throw a punch.

The fight was fucking stupid.

Perhaps, but it still may have been for the best. It was just a regular fight (no one got beat up bad or injured) and things may have gotten crazy, as I said, if it didn’t happen. I understand why people would say it was unnecessary though.

Perry never threw a punch. It was a joke. Needs to get out of the game.

I agree... the result was meaningless. Thankfully.

I was upset with the fight because the last thing anyone needed to see at that point was someone else get hurt.

More players would've gotten hurt without. It ended the incident. Thankfully.

Perry must have a hand injury or something, hasn't really wanted to fight for a couple of months now.

Or he’s been told not to pull a Chiarot & unnecessarily injure those silky mitts because they’re essential for the Habs these playoffs..

On a clearly accidental collision, there never should have been any reason to fight or look for retribution.

If the players thought it was intentional, this fight with no punches landed would not have ended it.

That’s not how most hockey players look at things, even if they should. And the fight did end it.

Hockey players are basically stupid, most couldn't get through high school without bribing the teachers.
It’s not really that. If you were not a competitive athlete growing up you wouldn’t fully understand but you always need an edge, physical or psychological, over your opponent, even if it’s not totally kosher, as they say.

Accidental injuries don't usually lead to fights.

That fight "ended" something that wasn't there. The only thing that ended was the fight itself.
