that was my concern in the offseason

but new management could get something for a few of the long term deals like gallagher and toffoli

Not many teams back their way into the playoffs, then go on a run. At some point it would be nice to aspire winning more than a round.

It's been my concern for 5 years now, prior to Price getting his new contract. You could see the current situation coming from a mile away. Terrible contracts for long term, terrible drafting & development, no consistent team identity.

I'm not sure you can get a ton of Gallagher unless you're willing to take on a bad contract in return. Toffoli, on the other hand, I agree with.

I dunno, I bet a lot of teams would overpay for Gallagher. Of course current financial situation is restrictive but maybe in a year or two?

The financial situation of the contract is good for year 1 & 2, but year 3 & 4, Gallagher receives $17M combined. That's a little tougher to swallow.

And as I always mention, players don't suddenly get better at Gallagher's age, it's when almost all of them start to decline. And with Gallagher's style of play, the clock's ticking.

The time was move him years before his contract was up

Dregger and Freege both mentioned teams like Vancouver were prepared to open the vault

Major Fukup , we had another Suzuki deal coming our way
 
Things will get muchhhh uglier in Quebec and with Habs, now that Quebec wants to become a nation, and playboy Trudeau giving his green light to that.
