2023-24 Canes Misc Thread

Elliott Friedman commented over the weekend that Brindy contract discussions are where they were 3 years ago, with Brindy wanting his assistants taken care of first.

Didn't sound like anything ominous but it is still annoying to me that we play out RBA's contracts this way. We are fortunate that RBA doesn't prioritize HIS pay in these contract discussions because a team like Toronto would offer him a lot of money to be their head coach if he was willing to entertain it.
This is just how Tom and Roddy handle this business. It annoys every member of the media outside of this market, but maybe one day they'll get the point.

Playoff tickets have hit Caniac Account Manager, STM should have gotten an email this morning. The price increases from the regular season for the first 2 rounds aren’t outrageous, but the price nearly doubles between the ECF and Cup Final.

I saw that. I'm just gonna select pay as you go and worry about it later

Here is the progression of the playoff ticket pricing for my full season Lower Level North seats over the past 3 playoffs. The 4 prices are per seat per round:

2022 $75 $94 $131 $210
2023 $80 $100 $175 $252
2024 $90 $114 $170 $314

Total increase from 2022->2024 +20% +21.2% +22.9% +49.5%

The price for the conference finals actually went down from last year for me. Is that some sort of discount for knowing we have lost 12 consecutive conference final games?

Otherwise, despite the fact already made here that a full 16 game playoff run would cost almost as much as a full season ticket, the prices over the past 3 season probably are 'fair' relative to the payroll level of this team and its success. I suspect our playoff prices are still quite a bit cheaper than the rest of the league.

Just 1 seat at the front row price level would cost $10,407 after taxes for a full 16 playoff games (not including parking).

Yeah, I have absolutely no clue what's happening with that, but was similar for me. The first two rounds had logical percentage jumps, the third round was basically the same as 2023 and then the price for the Finals was bonkers high.

2002 maybe, but pricing for the Finals in 2006 was also VERY expensive when you factor for inflation.
A friend of mine was in Vegas late summer 2005 and on a lark put $20 on the Canes to win the cup at 200-1. Just covered his playoff tickets.

does anyone here have any idea on quantities? I mean, if they sold 5 of each jersey than whatever, but if they sold 100 of each I'm impressed. I didn't like the brown, otherwise it's not terrible. The brown seems like a weird choice but wtfdik
