2024 Draft

It's possible, I just don't see it, like not at all. Open to be sold on him though.
If everything hits right and he becomes a beast first liner, I'd love to see a Dach/Lindstrom/Slaf line. Our very own Legion of Doom. But like you, I think it's a pipe dream that this kid becomes 1st line NHL material.

If your team is willing to play draft villains like we did with Mailloux, there may be an outside chance Connelly is there. I'll shoot a few more I've been tracking in between periods.
Yeah Connolly is a name i've heard up.

The thing is, Hawks have 3 seconds, 2 first next year and 3 more seconds next year. I'd like to think if anyone is capable of moving up, to the early to mid teens, they can, I'd love Sennecke, especially if they take Levshunov 2nd

Godin/Basu mentioned some scouts questioning Sennecke’s compete level and attitude. But they also said he dialed it up when it counted. So I dunno what the hell that means.

I'd be surprised if Sennecke is there at 20. Probably a better chance Connelly is than him. Ryder Ritchie is another decent prospect. With those 2nds, if I were them I'd spend one on Carter George and maybe the Russian bull on skates, Surin. I think George is an excellent goalie prospect. Surin is a forward that hits anything that moves, and has some skill.

I read the same in other scouting reports but essentially he raised his compete level during the playoffs. Haven’t heard anything about his attitude though.

I found it amazing that a guy that wasn’t even perceived as a first round pick at the beginning of the season is now a top 5 picks after an injury filled season of 32 games, no international play and poor playoff showing.

There are late bloomers in every sport. His height alone probably bought him extra time that smaller kids don’t usually get the benefit of.

It’s more the extremely small sample size that bothers me. He kept rising when injured as scouts, where picking the other players apart, see Eiserman, while he surfed on a good, but not extraordinary, first 1/3 of a season, playing mostly meaningless games.
