2024 Draft

I find it strange how many have given up on Barron at 22 when guys like Toews broke into the NHL at 24.

Plus, his biggest knock is the the most teachable skill, defense. He's big, can skate and has good offensive instincts, give him time to figure the defensive game. I bet at 25 he's an established top 4 D in the league.

No, not those guys

Barron, Wifi, Harris , Struble ....... I see 2 gone and third pair whoever stays

Guhle .....2nd pair if he can stay healthy and be more consistent

I expected a big improvement this year , actually regressed IMO

DR , Hutson , Mailloux and possible top pick , to try and develop a top pair

Ah got it, that makes more sense, and yes I agree. Not enough room for all those guys.

Struble is safe for now and Wifi has intriguing trade value.

I haven't given up on him. But he's running out of time to hide in the AHL.

I haven't given up on any player besides Norlinder, who just flat out isn't good. This team is way too shitty to be able to say they can give up on players. I would, however, try to figure out a way to trade one or two of them this season (or summer) for forward prospects.

I would not trade Xhekaj because players like him are so incredibly rare in today's game. I will gamble on him figuring it out and possibly missing out on trading him while he still has value.

Mailloux's a player that I would probably send back to Laval next year and probably for the full season or close to it.

Mailloux needs to play and play a lot. I'm not super worried about him burning the AHL, I just want him to get ice time & responsibilities. He's gotten better this year, but he's still a huge WIP in his own zone. I want him to improve on that before we start thinking about putting him in the NHL.

Wifi is a keeper unless a team clearly overpays

Yeah Xhekaj is a bit of a unicorn, which is also why is our most interesting trade asset to try to get a forward. I wouldn’t trade him for a pick.

if he's a wip in his own zone, he will fit in perfectly with our D

I wouldn't bet on that happening if I were you. Just saying.
Who knows. If they trade Savard this season or summer, I think he's all but guaranteed to at least start the year here.

I think it'll have more to do with how Reinbacher looks in camp. I would personally send both to Laval, but alas...

I expect Savard gone for a first at deadline next year provided he stays healthy. The exact type of D that gets a late first because reasons (good old boy thinking)

“His biggest knock” is he’s scared of his own shadow - can’t teach ball-less wonders the actual game of hockey vs pond hockey
