I’ve seen him in the top 10 on a few lists, but generally just outside of it. It’s not a reach if we think he’s BPA.
What is his projection ...2C , scoring winger or just a good player in the top 6-9
Habs need goals and impact players on the top 6

Patrice Brisebois somehow had a 14 year NHL career and he not only couldn't punch his way out of a wet paper sack, he was too afraid to even try.
Top 6 RW, probably 2nd line, but plays with a lot of jam and snarl . . . like his dad.

Philly tried to trade for him and ‘Zona was going to pick him at 6.
Possibly but he was still not ranked that high by most.
And most scouts had him outside of the top 10. And how do we know that a lot of team don't have Iginla in the the top 10? We don't, obviously. I have seem Tij ranked as as 9 on some recent lists. He appears to be a late riser.

What most scouts had is irrelevant really, it's the GM that does the drafting, and according to Godin, more than 10 teams had him at 5.
Of course not. But at 9 or 10 . . . maybe. Catton's frame concerns me.
Assuming that's true and he didn't just make that up . . . which is very possible.

If the Habs pick 8 or later the picks getting dealt for a young NHL asset, like Dach deal … unless someone offers significantly more, it’ll be part of a package for Zegras IMO

The most accurate ranking of what NHL scouts have in real life is Bob McKenzie. His rankings are based entirely on what the scouts tell him, since he doesn't watch the players.
He had Reinbacher 8th in his rankings. Picking a player 5th when he's ranked 8th is a not a reach to me.
What he wrote last summer:
- David Reinbacher, the rangy Austrian 6-2, 194-pound blueliner who is not regarded as an offensive defenceman and is not seen as an intimidating shutdown defender but plays an upper-echelon two-way game is No. 8 on TSN’s final list. He is the consensus top defenceman in this year’s draft. His range was as high as No. 7 and as low as No. 15.
