2024 Draft

And most scouts had him outside of the top 10. And how do we know that a lot of team don't have Iginla in the the top 10? We don't, obviously. I have seem Tij ranked as as 9 on some recent lists. He appears to be a late riser.

Depending on how Iginla plays in the playoffs, he could make a real push for the top-10. He's got a lot of interesting tools and if he's anything like Jarome, watch out.

This draft started with an outview of, tons of d-men in the top-10. You had Celebrini, Eiserman & Demidov on most lists as the only forwards in the top-10. Now, however, the forward crop has emerged and they've started overpopulating most top-10s.

I think the problem with the D, from what I've seen written, is there seems to be an overall worry about what their ceilings are going to be. The ones with very high ceilings (Silyev, Parekh, Buium, all three that forced me to Google & copy paste their names) also have a lot of questions about them. The rest, Dickinson & co, seem to be safe, albeit unspectacular players that would slot in to a second pairing.

Some years, the draft is extremely easy to predict. There's a consensus for the first few picks, and then after those players are taken, it's when "the draft really starts". As it stands, Celebrini's going #1. No debate. After that, though, it's incredibly fluid. There's no consensus whatsoever for the rest of the top-10 to 13 players.

I haven't simmed all year. I gave it one try. Looking good.

Nope…Zegras isn’t a Pat “little ball of hate” Verbeek type player just as Jaime Drysdale wasn’t , but I could definitely see Verbeek wanting to get his hands on Tij Iginla (in addition to Lidstrom) this draft… a player who also seems to be rocketing up draft position.
So if butterfly Zegras and Drysdale at 21-22 cant be part of a rebuilding team WTF do we want Zegras

Huh? Because a young player who didn’t work out on one team never found success an another team?
I get it if your gutting it to bare bones like the Hawks but why cant Zegras be part of your core in Anaheim with all skill ?

Contact issue ? motor ? something is up IMO

He's just not the good. He's like a trick shot artist in golf or pool. Doesn't have close to a complete game.

Only 8-players over last 10-years have had more points on ELC vs Zegras…

Caufield also “only had a shot and nothing else”, yet his all around game has grown leaps & bounds under MSL

There’s a lot more here than just a “trick shot artist” IMHO…

I just read that the OHL is investigating a bounty being placed on a player. In world of pousse caca hockey as the great Sal Butera calls it, this put a smile on my face. BTW, who ratted out the teammates? Everyone knows if you place a bounty, you never do it in writing nor do you ever mention it
