Iirc Geeman severely criticized Kreider signing at start of NYR rebuild - after the sent the letter out…. Yeah about that..

Kreider's an interesting player. He's quite the outlier.
His career trajectory is remarkable. At the time he signed his contract in February 2020, he had consistently been producing like a 2nd line player.
The first year of his contract, same thing. By the way, the NYR gave him a contract that paid him like a second line winger too.
But then, the next three seasons, between the ages of 30 to 34, he's had the three best years of his career by far. Forget a second line player, he's a legit first line winger. That's at the age where the majority of players start to see their careers go downwards.
Good on him.

Who knows? It's always weird to me when a professional athlete starts to get better, and significantly, so in his 30's. But I guess it can happen organically.

It helps when the NHL game becomes more offense driven, let alone getting quality teammates like Panarin he never had prior, just sayin
