2025 NHL Trade Deadline

Exactly.

The year we drafted 1OA the consensus was that there were 3 possibilities: Slaf, Cooley or Wright. Slaf had a 50 point season last year. Cooley wasn't heard from until this season and Wright has spent most of his career up to now in the AHL.

If we were to re-draft today and the choice was one of those three, I'd still take Slaf.
I want a different year

Huh? He had 20G and 44pts in his rookie season.

Wright first year post draft he was bounced around NHL/AHL/OHL. Last year he had a solid year in the AHL and was over a PPG in the playoffs. This year he has more points than Slaf.

Slaf at his best is better than the other two at their best, but the inconsistency is maddening.

Yup , sloppy play and not using his size

Top line and 1PP , 8 fucken goals is inexcusable

I'd trade Slaf for Cooley without hesitation. That said, Slaf could definitely still be the better player in the long run.

I’d probably take Cooley.
Roster construction of a small team needs a big body capable of playing regular top-6 role. Cooley would be yet another small skilled body that is neutralized as the game intensity picks up.

Slaf is closely tracking LeClair during his time as a Hab and his inconsistent play….

LeClair is the comparable I’d use. Big body that uses size + strength of positioning for puck possession, not a bruiser type power forward

I wouldn't, yet. I'm going to gamble finding consistency in his game. Cooley might consistently get more points, but if Slaf figures it out, he'll be more useful.

LeClair is the unicorn for big guys with some tools. Unfortunately, most big guys, just like most average sized guys never amount to much

How do we get Dobson and Cozens either by the deadline or in the summer? That's what I'd like to see.

What I dont like to see are endless debates over whether or not to resign Evans. That's not anything that is going to move the needle.

Am I correct in assuming that the 4 Nations tournament is irrelevant to NHL teams being able to make trades? In other words, are teams are allowed to make trades during the tournament, even ones involving players who might be taking part in said tournament?
