2025 NHL Trade Deadline

The team had zilch playoff experience for years and thrust into the playoffs after a 4 month hiatus with no prep time

You cant get any more pressure than this , way worse than going through a normal season where chemistry is developed and ramping up to play meaningful games in April .

Habs have plenty of vets on this roster to help the kids , I dont see an issue.

Plus roster changes are expected from year to year so there is no momentum to be gained when a new season starts .
Dude, stop doing acid, the only players that didn't have playoff experience that year was Caufield and Romanov.

Now we have Slaf, Dach, Huston, Guhle, Xhekaj, Struble, Heineman, Montambault, Dobes that haven't been in the playoffs yet.

and right to your mouth to enjoy
About as logical as most your posts.

Assumptions, agendas, idiocies, banalities and mind-numbingly moronic double and triple downs on your incessant imbecilic hockey views. That's what you bring. Same shit different year.

Obtuse is the word to describe you.

Theoretical question: If a team offers us a first round pick or a quality prospect, do you trade Matheson?

For example:

Vegas offers us Mathieu Cataford straight up for Matheson.

Minnesota offers us Liam Ohgren straight up for Matheson.

While looking at teams, the vast majority of the contending teams have already traded their 2025 first round pick. So a first round pick coming back would need to be in 2026 or 2027.

I'd definitely trade him for a prospect I like. Hutson is carrying him.

Side note - Lane Hutson / Kucherov / MSL etc are specifically why the draft & this whole “need to develop players better” is a red herring, and proof that a player either has elite hunger to work hard to achieve success or they don’t

So being in da mix won't impact development?

It depends on how the team is playing then. Don't want to screw up the chemistry. I'm concerned about them losing the mojo with the long layoff for a stupid tournament.

Yeah. I would be very cautious. Tweak on the margins. I would get a vet rental as the 13th forward who belongs in the NHL. Pezzetta can’t hack it and is a liability they can’t afford. I’d also consider bumping Savard down to #7, get a rental #6 who can play more minutes than him. But I wouldn’t trade Savard or Dvorak, Evans or Armia. Chemistry is set.

Struble can be dealt.

Leave the kids in Laval - they’ll have their own playoffs. The Habs would need experienced depth players if they are still in da mix.

Dvorak I don’t care as much but if it’s a low return, might as well keep him.

That was my perception too, a couple of weeks ago. But he seems to be playing better recently and his line is fairly effective. Might as well keep them together for the season, and he can walk this summer.

I didn’t notice much change, I thought he’s been ok all year, but not great either. I don’t like how he keep losing his guy in our zone though.

IF HuGo buy, I think it’ll be a vet 13th F to replace Pezz-dispenser

I am, however, very curious about NYI situation, they’re just about out of it, what does Uncle Lou do?

Would he entertain an asset + futures heavy deal for Dobson (picks + prospects)? If available, that’s the type of deal I could see HuGo going after in a major way

His line at least tries but Gallagher and him are brutal. I’d move Andy to Evans’ line.
