Around the League 2019-2024 Edition

The annoying thing is, all that matters is Florida's no state taxes, but Marner making millions in endorsements apparently is irrelevant
 
We're just lucky that Marner confined his comparables to the same sport. Have you seen what Kyle Lowry is making?
 
Their 5 reasons, btw:

1. "Stacked" forwards, because of depth like copp, perrault, and roslovic.
2. They will improve with age, despite having a ton of old players.
3. Their crappy team defense last year is going to be better this year for reasons.
4. Hellebuyck is going to be better this year for reasons.
5. Their prospects will step up this year even though they're not good prospects.
 
The Leafs are being treated like they had an off season as bad as the Jets.

We turned over Kadri, Hainsey, Zaitsev, Brown, Marleau (like 21 million in cap) into Barrie, Ceci, Mikheyev, probably Sandin, Moore, and a bucket of stuff to replace Brown/Marleau and it's being treated like a rough off season. Our core is locked in long term, and we're cap compliant.

The Jets turned Trouba, Myers, Hayes, Tanev into Pionk and not much else, still haven't signed Laine & Connor...and Buff might retire. They're probably going into opening night missing their #1 & #2 defenders, and 3 of their top 6 forwards. Pure unmitigated disaster of an off season and the media is still blowing them.

Yeah, they have enough pure skill to not suck dick, but their blueline is grim.

Literally, the only bad thing that happened this offseason was the Leafs paid Mitch way too much. Everything else was good to excellent.

But, hey, tire fire in Winnipeg keeps them warm. It's very cold at Portage and Main.
 
I say the Jets miss the playoffs. Relying on too many guys who are post-peak and not a fan of Helleybuyck, cavernous holes on the back end, etc..

Correct. Faulk is good at one thing ... shooting the puck from the point on the power play. And honestly, he's not consistently good at that.
 
Jake Gardiner must be choked.

He's a way better player than Faulk, and Fault gets 7 X $6.5M a year out from UFA.

Not really sure what the hell St-Louis is doing here. Did they forget that Pietrangelo & Schenn's contracts are up after this year?
