Around the League 2019-2024 Edition

Dubas got crap for defending Ceci and he proceeded to show Ceci the door. He was just being nice and helping his value. Oilers signed him. And yes, Ceci is really good compared to everyone else.

For whatever reason the Oilers do seem to be a better second half team the last number of years but when you have Leon and McDavid you should be contenders.

I don’t think he was just “being nice”. He legitimately thought Ceci was good.

Otherwise why sign him to an expensive one-year deal and then play him in the top-4 all year?

Let’s call a mistake a mistake here.

Last year that was mostly the return of Smith from injury, and the addition of Kane. And the coaching change may have helped too.

They might get a similar boost from Kane coming back, if he comes back soon and comes back healthy. But they'll be lucky to get another goalie impact like Smith had.

I could be wrong, but didn't he defend him at the end of his first and only season then said goodbye? He basically needed a RH D for that 1 years

In fairness, after two decades with guys like Yzerman, Fedorov, Larionov,Fetisov, Lidstrom, Datsyuk, Zetterberg, Holland deserves some floaters. Just reverting to the mean.

Kane looks to be returning next week but who knows at what level

I don't watch the Habs but... Natural Stat Trick says they've played very very limited time together this year. Like 0:39 seconds 5v5?

Was this just sarcasm that I missed?
He just named the two worst D for the Habs. Barron has only played 4 games though.
