it's the mentality of the league that kills me. they don't call penalties because they are penalties but in order to manage the game, or it was the other teams turn for a power play. somehow there can't be a team that actually deserves to have more penalties called against them or the situation of the game dictates that a penalty is no longer a penalty. call the rules fairly and consistently, cut out all the bullshit they currently call officiating and just do their fucking job properly. the game would be so much better for it. but in bettman's nhl artificial parity is more important then skill and growing the game based on the beauty of the sport. fuck gary bettman and his nhl, the game should be so much better than this

This is what will eventually kill the NHL and push it down to WWE status. Vegas is everything wrong with the league but now with all the betting ads and sportscasters even giving odds? It's become like Vegas, a seedy cesspool of humanity.

Its really turning me off to hockey. I pretty much watch because of habit now, I know how to break a habit.

Considering the refs treated them like one of the most clean, disciplined teams in hockey in round two, and how the only opposition player in a position to defend against their series winning OT goal had his stick blatantly held by Radko Gudas.
