I never understood why they thought they needed a guy like Raycroft, even if he worked-out. Didn't make sense. Just sign a UFA like Manny Legace and decide later about how to keep/move.

Yeah, that was the play. Raycroft was coming off of a terrible season and was already a bounce back play ffs.
