Around The League - 2024-25 Regular Season

Colin Campbell needs to be shown the door - Parros is a figurehead like Quintal & Shanahan were in that role, he’s simply looking for his future hockey gig without pissing ownership off

What exactly is Jr doing, he’s part of the elite executive committee of governors w Supreme Leader Jacobs?

Quintal and Shanahan were doing a far better job. Not perfect, but far far better.

But yes, Campbell needs to go of course.

Yup - keep in mind Parros is a very well educated and intelligent guy if you’ve ever heard him speak...he’s in a figurehead role and simply carrying out orders
You can be intelligent and still have fucked up views on player safety. He gets no pass for this.

The irony of drafting an high potential long term project at #3 and then rushing him to deprive him of that crucial developmental period.

Can’t use the rush excuse on every high draft pick that is struggling

KK was not thrust into a offensive role from day 1 , babied on the bottom 6 and played very well in year 1

Maybe he earned his spot to make the team in camp.

My only issue was physically he could of used another year overseas

Uh, because Panarin just watched Wilson pin Buchevich's head against the ice and punch him in the back of the head?

Strome was the first guy on Wilson , he should of pummelled him when he was down

Props to Panarin for sticking up to a team mate but your dealing with an animal

You want Marner in that scrum with Wilson

Wilson did not pin Buchnevich’s head against the ice.

Wilson did not punch him in the back of the head.

You can see if you look at the video closely, Buchnevich’s head is over Wilson’s stick.

Buchnevich falls on Wilson’s stick.

Wilson does not make any movement to push Buchnevich head further into the ice.

He punches him about at the shoulder level, clearly not on the head.

That Buchnevich stuff is not worth more than 5K.

Optical illusion seems that Wilson is pushing on his head with the stick, but he is not.

This post is not about the Panarin incident.

I think both incidents should be discussed separately, and the NHL made the right call in terms of the Buchnevich situation, which is not what people have made it out to be.

Yet at that same point in time Habs didn’t think Suzuki was able to handle NHL and sent him back to Juniors for further development.

FWIW - MBs been very consistent from the get go, that KK will not hit his stride till 23-24.

The outrage is about the Panting incident though. Without it we might not even be talking about the punch to Buchnevich.

What was he supposed to do? Watch him punch Strome while he was being hold up by another Cap? Wait until someone else jump on him? Tap him on the shoulder to politely ask him to stop punching his teammate?

Sounds like you're blaming the victim here.

Wilson is a recidivist psycho and gets no benefit of the doubt whatsoever.

His behaviour is getting worse because there are no meaningful consequences and he is being shielded by this dinosauric blame the victim culture.

The NHL has made its bed. Something really bad is going to happen one day and we’ll then be treated to mournful hypocrisy of the old guard.

In the meantime, I don’t know how the Caps players can look him in the eye. Wilson is a disgrace.
