Around The League - 2024-25 Regular Season

I keep seeing him as a McDonagh type. Can log a tons of minutes, solid D, can support the offense.

In terms of demeanour, he kinda reminds me of Markov. A kind of quiet ruthlessness. Other facets of the game are different, but they both exude that confident no BS vibe.

Speaking of, anyone know if Markov is in Montreal? I know he and his boys have Canadian citizenship and I would think he wouldn't want them over in Russia with a gun in their hands?

Problem for Pittsburgh is, the damage is already done. They're stradled with those Malkin, Letang & Rust (Can you believe he's signed until 2028? Fucking Christ) contracts, they don't have much in terms of prospects/pîcks, Petry never really returned to form...

The next few years in Pittsburgh are going to be what every team dreads: Stuck in the middle. Not good enough to compete, not shitty enough to tank.
MB could actually be a good fit for them IF Mario still has clout - as their focus will be 100% on pro player trades since ownership has made it clear there will be no retool / rebuild as long as Crosby / Malkin are around

Fenway group though likely will be analytics focused, so Dubas makes lots of sense, afterall
John Henry’s first move as new owner of Red Sox was to try & poach Bolly Beane from As

And Columbus #2, would love to see Chicago miss out on top3 completely. :devilish:

It the world of 'What ifs', if Buffalo had beaten Florida 10 days ago, they would be in playoffs and Florida would be behind the Pens. Of course, relies on everything else playing out the same. Woulda, coulda, shoulda and all that... 😝
