Around The League - 2024-25 Regular Season

I don't think the Rangers are trading barring a completely & utterly catastrophic season.

What I could see happening, though, is if Lafrenière is having a sub-par season & the Rangers are contenders, maybe making a trade based around Monahan for Lafrenière.

Otherwise, if they do plan on trading him, I get the feeling it'll be next off-season.

All assuming he has a bad season.

I won't trade any prospect we have for him.

I would still trade a second or third round pick, though. That alone is worth the risk.
There is plenty of prospects I’d trade for him, just not the good ones. Mesar and a 2nd? Sure.

Well... Not really, honestly. He's still a probable third line winger.

It's more about him being our best forward prospect moreso than him improving.
Yup , third line winger

Same role he had with Canada juniors killing penalties and chipping offensively

Needs to carve out that Gourde /Coleman role in the pros

The think with Laff is that his toolbox is devoid of any elite skills. His number one attribute was hockey IQ which doesn’t always translate to the number next level

I still don't know what the problem with Lafrenière is.

There's no way a guy who was that good that young just suddenly hit his ceiling.

I don't know if he's under too much pressure in New York or if the coaches haven't worked, but I would love to be able to get him here and see what we can do with him.

I'm puzzled too but my best guess from watching too much videos about him is processing time. He was able to buy an extra second in junior that he doesn't have in the pros and he seemingly hasn't been able to adjust,

He’s not elite in any single facet of the game. Should have obviously drafted Stutzle in hindsight.
