They took video of the whole thing. They texted back and forth about it. It happened. And the general public doesn't give a shit about being able to meet the "legal standard" for rape, which is hard at the best of times. They know it happened and that the perps tried to cover it up.

And in this case, because it involves 7 or 8 defendants, it only takes one of them to come to Jesus and flip on his co-defendants. At that point this charge suddenly has what most rape cases never do: a witness who saw it happen.

As for Ghomeshi, he technically "got off" but he's not working for any television outlet that I know of. He's not even doing a Tucker Carlson-esque podcast from his cabin in the woods. He's nowhere. He has ceased to exist, for all intents and purposes. Why? Because people don't give a shit that his slick lawyer got him acquitted. He's done. He's "You'll never eat lunch in this town again" done. And those players are similarly done, unless they go to the KHL. Otherwise they'll have to pump gas or shovel shit like all the other players who's careers fizzled.
 
You keep talking about this video but I have never seen it, if you have a copy, text me the link. Videos can also be doctored and do not necessarily show a lack of consent. That will be determined in court.

I do not disagree that none of the players will be re-signed as none are good enough. I guarantee you if Mcnopersonality did this and was acquitted, teams would line up for him. Ghomeshi wasn't good enough to get away with it, and face it, no one knew who he was until we learned his safe word. His lawyer was not slick, the women were shown to be liars.

This woman ain't lying and everyone knows it. The reason Player #1 tried to get her to say it was all consensual was because he knew in advance what they were going to do to her and they wanted cover. This shows both premeditation and an awareness of wrongdoing.

And Ghomeshi was one of the most popular and well-known media personalities in the country when the fit hit the shan. His notoriety didn't save him and neither did his not guilty verdict. In 2024 people are no longer tolerating this shit. If a Hollywood mogul as powerful as Weinstein could be cancelled and sent to prison there isn't a pro athlete on God's green earth who's going to slide by unless the accuser publicly recants her accusation. Even then, it's a coin flip as to whether or not they get to have a career afterwards.

We called it the "Iranamok Bash" and the posters featured an Aislin cartoon of Reagan. A Muslim student who's first language was not English began accusing us. "What is this Iran bash? What is this Reagan?" We had to try and explain that it wasn't political or religious just to get him to go away.

As an aside, at UBC, they had the Godiva ride where the Engineers hired a hooker to ride a horse down the Main Mall to the Engineering faculty in the nude. The gay and lesbian groups had the "up the bum" dance and had jeans day where they dared straight guys to wear jeans and possibly be seen as gay.
