Around The League - 2024-25 Regular Season

That's not a good contract. Very overrated player.
Really? I like it. Cap is going up in the next few years, 6.2 millions for a top 6 forwards will be pretty good. Plus, his NHL career os starting he can still grow.

That's the type of contract I was hoping we'd give Caufield 2 off-seasons ago.

Got to take some risks to have players outperforming their contract. Thats how you win the cup in today's NHL.

Be careful, you might offend some of the sluts that frequent this place. Don’t say terrible things about those better than you. Better than you sucking cock.
Didn't know you judged sucking cock competitions. The things you learn.

That’ is why I’m here - to watch y’all suck yerselfs off while embracing my cheerleader self.

Still not officially eliminated from the playoffs?

There’s hope. 🤪🥸😎🤓

Tippett is the classic good player on a bad team, bad player on a good-to-great team. Good on him for getting paid, though.

By the way, I get that Philly's not great and they're not going to be great any time soon, but if you want to know the main problem in the NHL right now, it's those 8 year deals. Especially to average players. In no way should Owen Tippett be getting an 8 year deal with financial & job security like that.

My #1 concern is getting those shortened in the next CBA negotiations. The long-term contracts are nothing short of harmful for the league.

the players can't be expected to give more up. If you want that then UFS status has to drop from 25 and 27.

I'm of the opinion that both things should happen.

Contract lengths need to be capped at a smaller length (ideally, 5 years) and true free agency needs to happen sooner.

Those two changes, by themselves, would drastically improve the league almost overnight once these 8 year deals that have been grandfathered in start expiring.

You cannot have a league rolling at maximal efficiency and capacity when teams are in metaphorical jails due to albatross contracts.

The problem with the NHL is that talent is scarce. Most of the planet doesn’t skate, yet the league has as many franchises (soon more!!!!) as other pro leagues that draw from a much larger base of potential players.

And so by the time the 20th pick in the draft rolls around, teams are hoping they can land a solid 200 ft playing 3rd liner.

Simply comes down to....stop handing out bad contracts

Bigger issue is your fucked trying to get out of them later

Teams have no flexibility when you hand the keys to asylum to the players
