Core 4 No More: The Motherfucking Off-Season Thread

Lybushkin is getting extended for sure to start. We'll see where they go after that. I'm sure they'll be a player for one of the top UFA d as well.
 
And Shanny's words in the presser were highly suggestive that they're moving a member of the core 4. Almost blatant. So I'm not sure they won't at least heavily explore some things. I'm surprised they haven't yet. Hopefully it was all about Tavares all along. They have to realize that they have to get rid of him or next year is likely a waste.
 
Goaltending obviously needs to be a priority. You can’t rely on Woll at all and heading into nest year with an untested 22 year old as your backup/plan b for when will inevitably gets hurt is just not a palatable option for a team trying to win.

There are potentially 3 top 5 goalies available.

Markstrom is a weird one. Every other goalies stats seem to line up relative to their peers except his, where his traditional stats are garbage but he still performed way better than expected.
 
If he doesn't trade an 11m dollar man he'll be a lot less busy! If they go heavy and spend on a goalie there really isn't much room for anything else. Hard to see how they improve much until JT's contract is off the books. Goalie is great and all but the goal should be to be a top 2-3 team.

25 million on 10 players with a goalie eating up at least 7 of it. So 18m to go 9 players. Seems reasonable enough to add a top 4d and replace Domi and Bert. Love the plan!
