Core 4 No More: The Motherfucking Off-Season Thread

He's probably 10x better than Boosh/Edmundson.

But yeah, there are a few better options for the shut down RHD. Roy and Tanev in particular.

Feel like Pesce’s reputation was built off of Slavin’s work

Don't think they played much together.

But I do wonder about how all the Canes dmen have such great stats, given their clear "volume over quality" strategy on display in the playoffs. They all could be overrated, and will see a drop off with new teams.

But also you still need to be good to execute the Canes system.

2020-21:
Slavin-Hamilton 764 mins
Skjei-Pesce 620 mins
Slavin Pesce 86 mins

2021-22:
Skjei-Pesce 1070
Slavin-Deagelo 686
Slavin-Pesce 46

2022-23
Skjei-Pesce 1307
Slavin-Burns 1194
Slavin-Pesce 54

2023-24
Slavin-Burns 1186
Skjei-Pesce 994
Slavin-Pesce 52

Skjei is good though. Get both.

Zadorov was really good in the playoffs.

And the thing is, it's his defense that's the real question mark - he's actually got skating and puck skills in his bag.

Tanev feels like Brodie 2.0, so depending on how many years he's given it could be okay

Pesce, you better know what Pesce you are buying

Roy is the guy that goes to the team with the known smart FO

I don't think they have in recent years, but they definitely did earlier in their careers, which is when Pesce developed his reputation as a defensive stalwart
