Core 4 No More: The Motherfucking Off-Season Thread

Zadorov looked like a 6m dollar guy for the first time in his career in the playoffs but it feels crazy to put that much weight into 13 games. Twice in his career he got traded for mid round picks.

He has never been a difference maker and every team he plays for is fine with letting him go because he's usually just a bottom pair guy for them. He has never put together a long enough stretch to be anything more than that.

Roy is likely gonna be the best value. He's got the least wow rep to his game, but might be as good as any of them.

The problem re: Roy is that he never did the heavy lifting in LAK despite being a D first kind of a guy.

Roy seems to have got the heavies and done really well in them.

I'd stay away from OEL on any type of term.
 
I take Tanev over OEL and probably Zadorov. Don't really like any of them but that's likely what Tre is thinking.
 
Depends on what "around" 4 million means. I was figuring around 3.6 at 6 years personally. So if "around 4" means 3.85 or something...okay, let's go.

But, minor haggling aside Tanev for 4 million for the next 2 years is probably a straight steal and then we're talking about 4 million out of a ~100 million dollar cap from then until whenever he's Robidas'd.
 
The problem is we’re not guaranteed he’ll leave when we want him to. What if Brodie had another two years? Not everyone will just retire whenever we tell them to.
