Idk from like January on they had far and away the best nerdies in the NHL. He had them playing realgud. Whether it was his doing or not, probably not. He's not an X and O's guy. But the nerdies justified their success.

I’ve done some playing around. Thanks to all their cheap forwards they can afford to add two $5-6 mill dmen (Skjei, Montour, Chychrun, Roy, Walker) and keep Bertuzzi or Domi.

If they dump Tavares they can keep Domi and Bertuzzi, add a big goalie contract like Saros and still have a few mill for a center.

All while being able to carry a full roster, though they should stick to 20 and accrue cap space.
