Thing is that should probably come at the expense of Benoiit, not Lilly. Having all of Benoit Hakanpaa Tanev in the lineup would be too much of a skill deficit i think.

And taking out Benoit would let us go with balanced L/R pairings.

Rielly --- Hak/Lilly
OEL --- Hak/Lilly

or maybe

Rielly -- Tanev
McCabe --- Hakanpaa
OEL - Liljegren

I've almost resigned myself to seeing Lilly flourish in someone else's top-4. but hadn't thought about him in a few months. darn.
 
Think Lilly only was signed once they lost out on Roy. So I don't think they are just looking to dump him without a dman coming back, otherwise they just wouldn't have signed him in the first place.

Dewar - Lorentz - Reaves


We’ll have to wait and see whether or not Berube is cut from a different cloth.

there's still potential for Brad to make a pretty big move, now or at the deadline. Kampf and Lilly is $6m to guys who are probably projected to be in bottom line roles. And there should be enough teams that would consider them assets. Throw in Jarnkrok and that's $8m....though actually only $6m because you'd have to fill two of those spots with ~$1m salary guys. But still, $6m could be a very good player, and we have a number of juicy enough young assets to boost the package with too.
 
i'm not convinced they need or expect him to be a top 6 guy. What makes him attractive is that he fits pretty well anywhere in the lineup i think.
