I thought Matthews is playing tonight.Lines tonight:
Timashov - Bozak - Marner
Leivo - Nylander - Brown
Greening - Laich - Prust
Clune - Gauthier - Kapanen
Gardiner - Corrado
Nielsen - Hunwick
Valiev - Carrick
he was, then they changed the plan and he's not playing.I thought Matthews is playing tonight.
Honestly, not really. Analytics people highly value HD save % and his is average at best. Many nerds believe Bernier is a comparable goalie (and Reimer of course much better).
2015-16 HD Save% (Min 40 gp)
1. James Reimer .874
(Jonas Enroth .866)
2. Brian Elliott .862
3. Corey Crawford .858
4. Thomas Greiss .855
5. MA Fleury .852
6. Jonathan Quick ..847
7. Cory Schneider .844
7. Frederik Anderson .844
9. Henrik Lundqvist .841
10. Petr Mrazek .839
...
Jonathan Bernier . 817
Actually 3 year splits are generally the most accurate for goalies especially. There is lots of variation year by year. Much too small of a sample size to measure how good a goalie is.Sure, but the question wasn't "how good was Bernier 3 years ago". The question was "could the Anderson trade have been analytics driven."
And clearly the answer is yes.
Thanks. I hope Matthews plays Sunday -- I'll be at the game.he was, then they changed the plan and he's not playing.
Yeah, that article about Dubas from Simmons is BS. No way our management team does that to Dubas. He's going to be our GM after Lou.
Helluva shot from Kappi X 2.
