J.P O'Connor of TSN 690 was saying after the game that he thinks Matheson is fighting through a back problem. He said he can recognize the discomfort from watching Matheson in his pre-game preparations and warm-ups.

What's dumb is thinking that a coach can magically pull wins out of his ass when the players he's been given are mostly dogshit.

Again, look at the Hoodie. When he was coaching and the de facto GM of the Browns from 91-95, a stretch where his team had a winning record precisely ONCE, was anyone calling him a genius? Did anyone believe that Bill Belichik was the end all, be all of coaches when his QB's were Bernie Kosar, Vinnie Testaverde, Mike Tomczak, or Eric Zeier? No. His team was dogshit, so he was dogshit.

Then he goes to New England, gets Tom Brady handed to him, and now he's a fucking coaching guru.

That is, of course, until he no longer has Brady. Once that happens, the Patriots go back to being dogshit like they were before Brady and Belichik has no answers.

It's not the fucking coaching. As Red Fisher always said "Show me the players!"

Get better players and Marty will look like a genius in no time.

Coaches with better records and worse rosters have been fired. But Marty still has some life left.
