1. If both CGY AND FLA’s picks are NOT top 10, MTL will receive the better of the CGY and FLA 2025 1st round picks. Result: TBD
2. If CGY’s pick is top 10, AND FLA’s pick is NOT top 10, MTL receives FLA’s pick. Result: TBD
Scenario: In the event CGY does NOT receive FLA’s 1st round pick:
Sub-scenario: CGY’s pick is NOT top 10
1. MTL will receive the CGY pick, and

Same here. I prefer Mercer, who I was hoping we would draft. While I am proud to see a fellow Newf as well on the Habs, our track record has not been all that good with them. Struck out with first rounders Terry Ryan and Brad Brown, while we did better with draft afterthoughts Michael Ryder ( a late round gem, really, regardless of his warts) and Darren Langdon(acquired years later). Don't think I'm forgetting any Newfs that played for us. .
Like many here, my first reaction on the trade was that it was a tad expensive. But there may be quite a bit of upside. Oh well, someone for you and I to cheer on for multiple reasons.
I think it's Mitchkov or Leonard. We need wingers more than stay at home Ds. We're full.
