IMO, Suzuki and PLD have not hit their peak.. just by adding PLD our top 6 would be PLD, Suzuki, Dach, Slafs, Cole, Anderson .. we can tweak as the seasons unfold. So we can have 3 good second line centers?
Timing and contract mainly , team is not a PLD away from anything for yearsWhat’s the difference? Age? Contract?
Nick probably tops out at 70-75 points but is not a 1CIMO, Suzuki and PLD have not hit their peak.. just by adding PLD our top 6 would be PLD, Suzuki, Dach, Slafs, Cole, Anderson .. we can tweak as the seasons unfold.
So in absence of...If Habs had a 1C , 1D , 1G and other pieces he would be the complimentary add
If PLD gets moved this summer it will be to a USA team and gets extendedIf the rumors are true about PLA that he is just waiting for UFA and wants to play for the Habs, signing him as an UFA would be 7 years at $8 +/- so Suzuki contract and PLD would be ending around the same time.. i have no issues with this..
Not at all , development comes first then see what the team is in a few yearsSo in absence of...
Sit on your hands. Got it.
and i am fine with that.. if he ends up in Montreal as an UFA I would be happy about it and i do not see how it delays the rebuild..If PLD gets moved this summer it will be to a USA team and gets extended
If we can get PLD for that Panthers first round pick, or the pick plus a middling asset, it's worth doing. True, we are not a PLD away from the Cup but he's young enough for the acquisition to make sense. No issue waiting either. Just saying he's worth that first.
I’m just indifferent to him. He’s fine but he’s not a needle mover (see Winnipeg Jets). It's one thing to not like the player. That's fine. But the reasoning being presented makes no sense to me.
I don’t get it. We have the cap space, he has easily 6-8 more good years, we need more top 6 players, especially with size. What’s the downside?Timing and contract mainly , team is not a PLD away from anything for years
Dach has 3 more years to go on the cheap by them team should turn around
Nothing against PLD , this is like Leafs going for it with JT and still cant get past round 1 and their core was ahead of us

when was the last time we were "annihilated" in the first round?I know that and you know that but to Count, all of what you just wrote is a euphemism for "fuck the fans". He'd rather squeak into 8th place and be annihilated in the first round than go through a few years of bottom feeding in order to build a team that can do more than merely give him something to watch on a Saturday night. He thinks that getting a welfare point somehow means you didn't actually lose the game, even though that is precisely what happened.

It depends on what we need, and is available, in in the 2024 off-season. He’s not a needle mover. I would not commit to him yet, when there’s really no need to. In a year from now, maybe, if we need him and no better options then.Agree. Seems straightforward.

Suzuki turns 24 on August 10th and PLD turns 25 on June 24PLD would be 3 years younger than Tavares was when he joined the Leafs if he joins the Habs this summer.
He’s only 2 years older than Suzuki.
