we wouldn't have 20A healthy Price and Weber would have made it hard to let the organic tank happen

Low maintenance goal scorer with a well rounded game with 3 years remaining at 4.25M, we sold him cheap. Probably a B rated trade. To be fair, Toffoli was more of a sure fire 45 point guy who seemed to find another gear as soon as he joined us… so that may explain the return we got
We would have been hunting for playoff spots with healthy Price and Weber. Dreaded middle.A healthy Price and Weber would have made it hard to let the organic tank happen
Lekhonen & Toffoli deals netted poor returnsLow maintenance goal scorer with a well rounded game with 3 years remaining at 4.25M, we sold him cheap. Probably a B rated trade.
Not necessarily poor but not great either, hence a B rating. It might even get lower if Mesar, Heineman, Barron and the Colorado 2nd round pick don’t amount to anything.Lekhonen & Toffoli deals netted poor returns

Yes it does.in your view, that does not mean that those of us who equally cherished those Olympic golds are wrong.
That rule doesn't apply when you're actually rebuilding instead of merely pretending to rebuild for one season before going back to patching.FYI no Canadiens GM has ever missed the post season 3 yrs in a row and kept his job. Now Hughes might but he would also be the first GM to manage a Canadiens' team that misses four in a row (we have not missed 4 in a row ever iirc)
No, those were phony rebuilds. They were never fully committed.Andre Savard did as did Gainey
If you want to get technical it was Tommy Gorman who started the rebuild that Selke later benefitted from. No… that would actually be Frank Selke Sr, who laid the foundation for 19 Cups in 25-years including hiring Sam Pollock who was managing a minor league baseball team
well back in the day your head exploded after all losses especially to the Leafs. You never once called for tank then. That rule doesn't apply when you're actually rebuilding instead of merely pretending to rebuild for one season before going back to patching.
I'm fine with them going 6-76well back in the day your head exploded after all losses especially to the Leafs. You never once called for tank then.
Not really, Habs had won back to back Cups but Gorman had the business in financial ruin - losing massive $$ (for that time period). He did stupid things like book an evangelist for months at Le Forum with less than 10 people showing up (yes staff outnumbered attendees) and forcing Habs to play on the road during peak earning periodIf you want to get technical it was Tommy Gorman who started the rebuild that Selke later benefitted from.
Savard had us going in the right direction but didn’t get enough time. Gainey set us back big time. No, those were phony rebuilds. They were never fully committed.
Yeah I’m done with him too. Maybe he can rebuild his confidence in Laval, maybe. No one will claim him.
I dunno, 2003 draft wasn’t exactly Gainey’s faultSavers had us going in the right direction but didn’t get enough time. Gainey set us back big time.
