Yes thats true. I hope he doesn't become part of the organization. It would have also been a once in a lifetime opportunity for Lecavalier to play for the Habs when he had the chance back in the Gainey era. Funny how it suddenly wasn't important the minute a trade to Montreal became a real possibility. In fact, the most important thing at that point seemed to be to try and find a way to stop it from happening.

Of course he did…. now that his kids are teens, want nothing to do with him , and he’s bored & has nothing to do with his time.According to Hughes, Vinny regretted not wearing the saintly flannel
The Canadiens might not be preparing to go through a rebuild in the traditional hockey sense of the word. But they are definitely trying to rebuild something. A sense of pride. A sense of direction. A roadmap to days in the not-too-distant future when they can legitimately aspire to win a Stanley Cup.
Hughes and Gorton have a lot to do between now and then in putting their stamp on this team. But the work — that rebuild — will truly begin when the Canadiens report to training camp next fall.
Based on Godin & Basu’s interview w Hughes. There will be no long prolonged rebuild, it’ll be a quick reset (in MB lingo) - the long rebuild will be the orgs approach to amateur scouting & player development
