Same. I think that's the only reasonable way to look at it.the other options were to wing it, or give Jack campbell (whose older than Murray and at their respective bests a clear step down) life changing money.
dubas got played in terms of value but I think I’m ultimately less upset about this one than PAYING the mediocre campbell.
And we have to assume they called on every goalie out there and knew about Talbot but felt Murray was better. Right or wrong, they must like the guy a fair bit, and no doubt some of that is from their history with him.
If he stays healthy, I don't see why he'd be bad for us. I'm expecting him to surprise. And I do think Jack could surprise in the other direction in front of a shit D like Edmonton's, and get himself hurt or crushed early and often and be useless within a couple of years of the deal. I certainly don't think he's their missing piece, that's for sure.
