My guy Simon Boisvert thinks Barron's our top prospect, better even than Guhle.

Not sure I share the sentiment, but I respect his opinion a ton.

I would still trade the 2 of them for Owen Power.

Seems like opinions on Barron are quite diverse.

He was pretty incredible for Halifax. He played against KG in the Memorial Cup. He was older and a standout. KG looked somehow freakish. Perhaps I will call him 'FreakShow'.

We'll see if they actually abide by/adhere to that credo. Easy to say months before the draft at a Q & A session.

Even if Baron only tops out as a number four defenseman, this trade becomes a home run. He's described as a mark methot clone. That would be outstanding.

He definitely has a top pairing ceiling. Probably settles into a 2nd pairing guy though.

From that one youtube video and my Avalanche fan friend's input, Barron has first pairing physical abilities (size/skating) and skills, but at this point has limitations in decision-making/poise that top out at as a second pairing D. He's still only 20 so there's a lot of years to work on those.
